In Shanghai, one-stop service centers in the international arrival halls of Pudong T1 and T2 and Hongqiao T1 help with payment, phone, transport and tourism, including setting up common local apps. Once Alipay or WeChat Pay is set up, a small test payment shows whether it works.

Ways into town: the official taxi rank, airport buses, rail, or ride-hailing (DiDi – ride-hailing app, also a mini program inside Alipay). Do not get into an unlicensed car.
