Meituan

1. Install the official Meituan app, or open the Meituan mini program inside WeChat or Alipay.

2. Official login asks for a mobile number. One-tap login is for mainland carriers. WeChat and Alipay login are official third-party paths. Official pages do not list which overseas SMS routes work. Do not assume a foreign number will register.

3. Pay with a wallet that already works. Official options are Meituan Pay, WeChat, Alipay, and Apple Pay. This site does not register the account for you.

4. Binding a foreign card on Meituan requires a passport photo sent to Meituan, not to this site. Read Meituan’s Qianbaobao card rules (outbound link).

5. Passport checks for Meituan bikes were reported by The Paper in August 2024 as a hidden manual review. Do not expect an instant pass.
